Ojos del Salado is the tallest volcano in the world, and Chile's tallest mountain. It is located near the Chilean-Argentinian border, in the Atacama Desert. It is about 23,000 feet (7,250 meters) high, and very dry, although there is snow on its peak in the winter. Its last eruption was on November 14, 1993, in which clouds of gas rose from the mountain. Other than this, it has not erupted in recorded history.
