The Chilean Flag reflects its country’s history and geography. In the top left corner of the flag is a white star on a blue background. The star represents honor and progress, and the blue background represents the sky. The flag has both a red and a white stripe as well. The white stripe, located on the top of the flag, symbolizes the snow of the Andes Mountains. The red stripe is very important to Chile because it represents blood from the Chilean War of Independence. The flag is in part inspired by the American flag, with its red and white stripes, and the star on a blue background, because the USA inspired Chile to become a democracy.
